Glen R. Wyant, MD, PA – Biography
Dr. Glen R. Wyant is a board-certified in general anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology. He is co-founder and managing partner of Aegis Anesthesia, a unique anesthesiology group that has members specializing in anesthesia care for babies, children and adults. He is a founding partner of Children Are Special, LLC, a newly formed physician-owned network of pediatric physicians. He is president of Galen Medical, LLC, a surgery center development, construction, and management company. He is co-founder and managing partner of North Texas Children’s Anesthesia LLP, Anesthesia Partners of North Texas LLC and Pediatric Anesthesia Locum Solutions, LLP.
Dr. Glen R. Wyant, CEO of ParkHill Medical, partners with physicians, through ParkHill Medical, in developing and implementing healthcare management services and surgical facilities for private practice physician. As larger physician group practices without walls form in response to the healthcare paradigm, ParkHill Medical provides a platform to preserve the private practice of medicine.
Dr. Wyant was instrumental in the development of the first and highly successful pediatric surgery center, Texas Pediatric Surgery Center, North Richland Hills, where he also served as medical director from 2002 to 2006. Dr. Wyant, his partners and pediatric specialists pursued his vision of improving pediatric care in the community by advising, renovating and/or developing medical facilities that would meet his standards for children’s surgery. These have included Cook Children’s Pediatric Surgery Center in Plano, USMD Hospital at Fort Worth, and numerous outpatient surgery centers. He is considered an expert in the development of Office-Based Pediatric Anesthesia and setting the highest standards for pediatric dental office sedation sites.
Over the past 25 years, Dr. Wyant has accumulated a vast amount of experience on the evolution of healthcare. He has held the position of Surgery Chief and has been elected to the Medical Staff Board of Trustees at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, amongst other committee appointments. Past appointments include Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Medical College of Georgia and Assistant Professor of Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pain Management at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
Dr. Wyant’s clinical interest has been in pediatric cardiac anesthesia. His postgraduate training included an anesthesiology residency and two fellowships: Advanced Anesthesiology Fellowship (Complex Cardiac and Neuroanesthesiology) and a Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with Subspecialty Certification in Pediatric Anesthesiology.
Dr. Wyant’s vast experience with all stages of development and management of healthcare facilities brings a unique perspective to the development of Children Are Special (CARES) Pediatric Network. Long before it was a mandate by the Affordable Care Act, he demonstrated how to improve medical care and decrease costs by the implementation of systems and processes.
